3-11 Alarm fire in Chicago, 11-11-20

Excerpts from abc7chicago.com:

A massive fire broke out in the Hegewisch neighborhood of Chicago near 119th Street and Avenue O around 8:40 p.m. on Wednesday. The Chicago Fire Department responded with an extra-alarm, which is typically used for large or complex fires. Witnesses reported that flames and thick smoke were visible from several blocks away, indicating the intensity of the blaze. The structure involved was located in an industrial area, and it appeared that the entire roof had collapsed due to the fire's severity.

The fire remained active throughout the night, and a rekindle was reported just after 6:45 a.m. on Thursday. Additional smoke was seen rising from the damaged building, prompting firefighters to remain on alert. It’s unclear what caused the fire at this time, but authorities are investigating the incident.
