The University of Adelaide develops the world's first quantum battery

According to foreign media reports, Dr. James Quach of the University of Adelaide in Australia will use the unique properties of quantum mechanics to create the world's first quantum battery. Dr. Quach said that quantum batteries, unlike ordinary batteries, have a faster charging rate.

Quach said: "If a quantum battery is charged for one hour, then the charging time of the two batteries is only 0.5 hours, and the charging time of the three batteries is shortened to 20 minutes. And so on, if 10,000 Block quantum cells are charged at the same time, which takes less than a second."

Although it sounds counterintuitive, the use of quantum entanglement techniques can make the theory a reality.

Quantum mechanics can cope with the interaction between atomic and molecular-level materials. The special properties of this level do contradict the conventional laws of physics.

The idea of ​​quantum cells was first seen in a research paper published in 2013, and Dr. Quach applied the theory to laboratory research. Quantum entanglement is extremely subtle and environmentally demanding – systems of low temperature and separation. If the conditions change, quantum entanglement cannot occur.

Dr. Quach said that quantum cells will be used in small electronic devices, and its long-term research goal is to increase the capacity of this battery to support renewable energy technologies. In the future, this type of battery can be powered in any climate.
