As early as August 2018, Dongfeng Cummins started the design of the ISZ series engine matching Dongfeng KL (D320 platform), and plans to deliver the prototype in December 2018. The delivery period is tight and the task is heavy. Dongfeng Cummins immediately negotiates solutions with the Dongfeng commercial vehicles for the matching work of the prototype vehicles. It also investigates the possible problems and difficulties to generate the plan. The work of both parties is reasonable and efficient.

Faced with a large number of new options and new parts development work, Dongfeng Cummins mobilized engineers in the design, application, marketing, and materials and manufacturing departments to set up a special management team to ensure the design quality, technical agreement and order confirmation of new parts. The quality, delivery time and assembly of the parts are smoothly connected, quality and quantity are guaranteed, and the task is successfully completed within 4 months.
In addition to this off-line 6X4 tractor TL45, Dongfeng Cummins ISZ engine will be further matched to the 4X2 tractor, heavy engineering vehicles and other product platforms. As the current high-powered star product of Dongfeng Cummins, ISZ engine will usher in a wider range of applications and more praise in the 13-liter market with excellent performance and stability.
It is reported that the Guoliu Z14 engine will also be matched on the Dongfeng Tianlong KL platform, which will enhance its competitiveness in the future high-end heavy truck market and lay a solid foundation for the country's six product layout.
