The Northlake Fire Department was called to a house fire at 412 N. Laporte Avenue yesterday, arriving to find heavy smoke pouring from all sides of the building. Recognizing the severity of the situation, they escalated the response to a MABAS Box Alarm, which brought in additional resources from several departments within MABAS Division 20. Dave Traiforos, a local photographer, arrived on the scene just behind the first responding units and captured a series of powerful images that show the intensity of the fire from the moment crews arrived until the incident was under control.
