1. Archive, save and use of archived discs
Incorrect ways to save, use, and maintain can compromise the performance of the disc and reduce the archiving life of the disc. The disc should be saved, used and maintained as follows.
1) Storage of archived discs
l The disc should be placed in the CD case and placed vertically in the CD holder for storage.
l Do not place the disc in an environment with high temperature, high humidity or rapid changes in temperature and humidity. Do not expose the disc to sunlight or ultraviolet light for a long time.
l The disc should be placed away from dirt or foreign objects.
2) Use of archived discs
l Remove the plastic package from the spindle box or the jewel case before preparing to burn the disc. Do not open the disc package when you are not ready to burn the disc.
l CD-R and DVD±R, BD-R use dedicated recorder and optical drive (or player) respectively, it is forbidden to use the recorder to read the disc.
l Hold the disc with the two fingers and pinch the center hole and outer edge of the disc. Do not bend the disc by hand.
l Use a soft label pen with non-solvent-based ink to write the disc label on the label side of the disc. It is forbidden to write a label on the label side of the disc with a hard pen, and it is forbidden to write the label in the data area of ​​the laser readout surface of the disc.
l Put the disc back into the disc case immediately after use.
3) Maintenance of archived discs
l Wipe the disc to remove dust, foreign matter, stains, fingerprints and liquid from the disc. Wipe it from the center of the disc to the outer edge of the disc with a clean cotton cloth. Do not wipe the disc in the circumferential direction of the disc.
l Clean the disc with grade 3 water. For difficult to clean, use diluted isopropanol. Wipe and dry with a lint-free cloth or mirror paper.
2. Archive the environmental conditions for CD storage, work and inspection
1) The archived disc shall be stored, operated and tested under the conditions of temperature, humidity and atmospheric pressure as specified in Table 1.

2) Light exposure to the recording layer of the disc should be minimized or avoided during the storage, operation and inspection of the disc.
3) The indoor illumination of the archive is not less than 50lx (0.25m from the ground), and the studio illumination is not less than 200lx (0.75m from the ground). The ultraviolet light intensity is not more than 75 mw/lm. The illumination source should use an energy-saving cold light source that does not contain ultraviolet light.

According to DA/T38-2008: When an electronic file is archived on a disc, the disc should be tested. The error rate and uncorrectable error of the disc must be checked before archiving, and the qualified ones can be archived. Discs that fail to pass the test must be scrapped.
