Chinese capital enters Indian oil and gas field for the first time

According to local media reports compiled by the Ministry of Commerce in India on the 5th, Chinese companies recently established India-China Energy Corporation with India. This is the first time that Chinese companies have invested in Indian oil and natural gas. It is reported that the Sino-Indian joint venture company will establish urban natural gas supply systems and natural gas transportation pipelines in China and India, and open up business opportunities in the downstream areas of China's natural gas.

It is reported that the companies that China and India have reached cooperation with are China Gas Holdings Co., Ltd. and India's state-owned natural gas company. It has decided to set up a 50% joint venture company, the Sino-Indian Energy Company, in Bermuda. The two sides will cooperate in the compressed natural gas business, including the establishment of urban natural gas supply systems and natural gas transportation pipelines in China and India, the exploration of business opportunities in China's natural gas downstream, and the purchase and sale of fuels such as liquefied petroleum gas, liquefied natural gas, and compressed natural gas.

In addition, the joint venture will also invest in coalbed methane and other ongoing projects of the Chinese side.

China and India are both big energy importers. Prior to this, the Indian Minister of Oil and Gas had stated that he hoped to bid with China in bidding for overseas oil and gas exploration and development assets to reduce the cost of acquisition. Last year, China and India also signed a memorandum of "strengthening oil and gas cooperation."
