Lake Forest is on the site

At this moment, I’m adding the Lake Forest Fire Department’s two stations to Division 4. The primary station, located at 255 W. Deerpath Road, is a veritable warehouse of firefighting resources. It houses a buggy, two engines, three ambulances, a tower ladder, squad vehicle, utility truck, boat, and ATV. All but one of the ambulances have been accounted for so far. As you can see in the image below, the headquarters station at 255 W. Deerpath also includes facilities for the police department and dispatch center. Even as late as 2007, they were still adhering to the classic white-over-red color scheme when they got Engine 422, a Pierce Dash rescue pumper. In 2008, they introduced an IHC/Horton ambulance that was painted black over red. Coincidentally, the 1994 Pierce Saber underwent some bodywork at Renewed Performance, Inc. (RPI) in Tipton, Indiana, and it too is now black over red. ![](https://example.com/LKFR_E421-LS.jpg) *Lake Forest Fire Department Pierce Saber Engine 421. Over time, as the city expanded and the area underwent redevelopment, the old schoolhouse was replaced in 1993 with a modern, larger firehouse featuring three drive-through bays, offices for the Fire Prevention Bureau, and classroom space. Interestingly, the new station was constructed just a stone's throw away from the original location. ![](https://example.com/LKFT_Sta2_7924-6B-LS.jpg) *Lake Forest Fire Department Fire Station 2 at 1111 S. Telegraph Road, less than a block from the old Everett Road house. The second-floor dormers are purely decorative; there is no actual second floor. It’s remarkable how much has changed since those early days, yet the core mission remains unchanged—to protect and serve the community. This update gives me a chance to reflect on the evolution of firefighting practices and equipment over the decades. Each change, whether in design or color, reflects progress and adaptation to new challenges. It’s fascinating to see how these departments continue to innovate while staying true to their roots. I hope this provides a clearer picture of what the Lake Forest Fire Department looks like today. If you have any questions or need further details, feel free to reach out. Stay safe out there!
