Larry Shapiro recently visited Aurora and captured images of three new fire apparatus deliveries. These updates mark an important step in modernizing the department's fleet.
Engine 1 received a brand-new 2012 E-ONE Cyclone II MFD 1500/750/30B top-mount engine, with unit number 137594 and Aurora ID 33-855. The unit is now replacing an older model that had served the department for many years.

Previously, Engine 1 was equipped with a 1992 E-ONE Protector TC 1500/750/50. This older unit was eventually replaced by the newer model.

Even earlier, Engine 1 operated with a 1975 Hendrickson 1871S/Pierce 1250/750. This vehicle was one of the first in the department’s history.

Engine 10 also received a new unit: a 2012 E-ONE Cyclone II MFD 1500/750/30B top-mount engine, serial number 137595, Aurora ID 33-845. The previous unit for Engine 10 (Aurora ID 33-877) was featured in a previous post.

Truck 6 was also updated with a new 2012 E-ONE Cyclone II MFD 0/0 HP95 RM tower ladder, serial number 137593, Aurora ID 33-827. This unit replaces an older tower ladder that had been in service for over a decade.
