The reporter learned from Toyota China yesterday that Toyota’s sales in China reached 78,700 vehicles in May, a significant increase of 105% from the same period last year.
In the first five months of this year, Toyota sold about 372,000 vehicles in China, an increase of 26.1% over the same period of last year, which is higher than the average growth rate of the industry. After the earthquake in Japan last March, Toyota’s sales in China were affected due to factory damage and obstructed supply of parts, resulting in a low base.
It was also learned that Toyota’s sales in the United States in May also rose by nearly 90% compared to the same period last year.
