Statistics show sustained and rapid development of China's petroleum and chemical industries

On January 30th, the reporter learned from the China Petroleum and Chemical Industry Association that China’s oil and natural gas production continued to increase in 2006. The annual production of crude oil was 1837.6 million tons, an increase of 1.7% over the previous year, and natural gas production was 58.55 billion cubic meters, a year-on-year increase. 19.2%. The economic efficiency of the petroleum and chemical industries has grown by double digits for eight consecutive years.
Statistics show that in 2006 China's crude oil processing volume reached 3.065.06 billion tons, an increase of 6.3%; refined oil production was 182.048 billion tons, an increase of 4.5% year-on-year, of which gasoline production was 55.914 million tons, diesel was 1.1653 billion tons, and kerosene was 9.6 million tons.
According to information, in 2006 China Petroleum paid great attention to the development of old oilfields and potential mining. Natural decline, comprehensive decrement, and the rate of water cut increase were effectively controlled. At the same time, the pace of production in the new area was accelerated. Oil and gas production in the west increased rapidly, and domestic crude oil was produced throughout the year. 10,664 million tons, once again set a new record, producing 44.2 billion cubic meters of natural gas, a year-on-year increase of more than 20%; domestic processing crude oil 1.1587 million tons, an increase of 4.8%, producing refined oil 73.49 million tons, an increase of 3.3%. In 2006, Sinopec produced 39.92 million tons of crude oil, produced 7.26 billion cubic meters of natural gas, and processed 146.3 million tons of crude oil.
According to a comprehensive analysis by the China Petroleum and Chemical Industry Association, the output of major products of China's petrochemical industry grew steadily and rapidly in 2006, the market demand was strong, and the connection between production and sales was good. Of the 65 major products tracked by the association, 61 were produced, which accounted for 93.8% of the total output, and 44% or 67.7% were increased by more than 10%. Among them, the growth rate of national agrochemical production was accelerating, total chemical fertilizer production (refined, the same below) was 53.348 million tons, an increase of 14.2% over the previous year, nitrogen fertilizer production was 38.69 million tons, an increase of 13.3%, and cumulative urea production was 22.232 million tons. The growth rate was 13.3%; the output of phosphate fertilizer was 12.264 million tons; the output of potash fertilizer was 2.089 million tons; the output of pesticides was 1.196 million tons, both increased by more than 10% year-on-year.
The production of basic chemical raw materials grew rapidly. In 2006, the output of caustic soda exceeded 15 million tons, reaching 15.118 million tons, an increase of 19% year-on-year; the production of soda ash reached 15.972 million tons, an increase of 10.8%; and the production of calcium carbide reached 11.717 million tons, a year-on-year increase of 27.7%.
The output of organic chemical raw materials and synthetic materials also increased rapidly. The increase in production of ethylene, benzene, and methanol was more than 10%. The output of ethylene jumped to 9.412 million tons, an increase of 22.2%, when new equipment was put into operation; the output of synthetic resin was increased. 25.287 million tons, an increase of 17.6% year-on-year, including 8.238 million tons of polyvinyl chloride, 1.845 million tons of synthetic rubber production.
