The Jinjiyan Washing Plant of Songzao Coal and Electricity Company, part of the Heavy Coal Group, has made a significant leap in operational efficiency by leveraging technological innovation. The plant recently introduced an aerial ropeway system that spans over 80 meters, completely eliminating the need for manual transportation of coal samples to the laboratory.
For years, workers had to manually carry raw coal samples from the site to the lab, which involved navigating multiple floors and long belt corridors covering more than 2,000 meters. This process took over 20 minutes per trip, posing challenges especially for female drivers working night shifts. They were required to transport samples within a tight one-hour window, raising concerns about both efficiency and safety.
Recognizing the issue, the washing plant analyzed the situation and found that the straight-line distance between the sample collection point and the laboratory was just 80 meters. Based on this insight, the technical team launched a project to develop an automated transport solution. After months of research and development, they successfully installed and commissioned an aerial ropeway system that now transports coal samples in just 20 seconds.
This innovative system not only significantly reduces the physical workload of employees but also enhances workplace safety and operational efficiency. It marks a major step forward in the plant’s commitment to modernization and improving working conditions for all staff. The success of this project could serve as a model for other similar facilities looking to adopt smart and safe logistics solutions.
