On November 22nd, the China Automotive Industry Science and Technology Progress Award Fund Committee held its Fifth Session of the Second Council. During the meeting, the committee officially reviewed and approved the 2007 "China Automotive Industry Science and Technology Award." This annual recognition highlights outstanding achievements and individuals who have contributed significantly to the development of the automotive industry in China.
This year, a total of 50 projects were honored with the "China Automotive Industry Science and Technology Progress Award." Among them, one project received the first prize, 13 earned second prizes, and 36 were awarded third prizes. In addition, several distinguished professionals were recognized with the "China Automotive Industry Outstanding Science and Technology Talent Award." These include Zhang Jianwei, Deputy Director of the China Automotive Technology and Research Center, Ouyang Minggao, Director of the State Key Laboratory of Energy Conservation at Tsinghua University, and Guo Maolin, Assistant Director of the FAW Group Technology Center.
Furthermore, the "China Automotive Industry Outstanding Youth Science and Technology Talent Award" was given to young and promising talents such as Wang Tao, Project Director of Shenlong Automobile Co., Ltd., Xing Rufei, Assistant to the General Manager of R&D Center at Shenyang Brilliance Jinbei Automobile Co., Ltd., and Li Fengjun, Deputy Chief Engineer at the FAW Group Technology Center.
Notably, this year's awards featured a standout project: the development of the "Dongfeng 1.5-ton High-Mobility Off-road Vehicle," which received the first prize. This project was highly praised by the jury and marked the first time that this particular vehicle model was recognized with the top honor since the award's inception. The achievement reflects not only technical innovation but also the growing strength of China's automotive research and development capabilities.
