I've got some exciting news about a classic piece of firefighting history that I think might interest a few of you. It's a 1967 Crown Firecoach Snorkel F-1535, and it’s up for grabs right now. This isn’t just any old truck—it’s a beauty with an impressive history.
The Snorkel was originally purchased by Deerfield-Brannockburn in Illinois way back in the day. They eventually sold it off to Black River Falls, Wisconsin in 1984. Then, in 1997, Black River Falls passed it along to the Chilhowie Fire Department in Virginia. During its time in Virginia, it also served the Glade Spring area before finding its way back to Chilhowie, where it’s currently owned by Brent Foster.
Now, we're putting this iconic vehicle up for sale. The Snorkel boasts an 85-foot boom, which is perfect for those tough high-rise situations. Under the hood, there's a powerful 8V71 Detroit engine paired with a 5-speed transmission. The paint job still looks fantastic, and the tires are in great shape too. It’s truly a remarkable piece of machinery that has stood the test of time.
