The new 38mm external wastegate is a completely redesigned unit, intended to replace the F38 model. When developing this ultra-compact wastegate, we focused on creating a smaller, more efficient design. Standing at only 3.7" in height, it’s significantly more compact than the current F38 model, which measures 4.85". This makes it ideal for tight engine bay spaces.
One of the standout features is the three bottom pressure ports, which make installation easier and reduce the need for complex mounting configurations. Additionally, there is a top-mounted pressure port that can be rotated into six different positions, giving you maximum flexibility during installation. The design eliminates the need for bolts or gaskets, and all setups are lead-free and fuel-safe.
We also improved the diaphragm positioning to prevent pinching, ensuring long-term reliability. The wastegate uses high-temperature NiCrFe-based alloy for the valve, paired with a 347SS housing for increased durability. The actuator diaphragm is made from high-temperature silicone reinforced with Nomex, offering excellent performance under extreme conditions.
The actuator spring is made from 17-7 PH stainless steel, providing consistent pressure even at temperatures up to 900°F (483°C). It resists "relaxing" under heat, ensuring stable operation. The valve seat and bushing are crafted from Nitronic 60 stainless steel, while all hardware is made from stainless steel for corrosion resistance.
The mating weld flanges are constructed from 304L stainless steel, and the actuator is color-anodized aluminum for a sleek, durable finish. With three lower ports and two top ports, installation is straightforward, and plug-in caps are included for unused ports.
