Under the general environment, the overall greening rate of the tire market in 2015 is expected to exceed 20%, and this figure is only about 2% in 2010; in 2020, green tires will account for more than 60% of the national tire market.

 


“It is expected that the industrialization of green tires in China will basically follow the principle of “first half steel, full steel, first original replacement, first voluntary post-compulsory, first new product and old product”.” China Automotive Technology and Research Center Automotive Technology Information Research Director Wang Yannan said.

With the rapid development of the Chinese automotive industry in the past decade, the Chinese tire industry has developed steadily, and it has become the world's largest tire producer and market. However, the irrational structure of tire products of domestic companies and the homogenization of products have caused a serious price war to intensify the contradiction between overcapacity; in addition, technical regulations for tire energy saving and environmental protection and safety in European countries and the United States have tightened, resulting in export-oriented enterprises and products. Technical barriers; Domestic resource crisis and environmental pollution management are imminent. Industry policies fully encourage the development of green tires, and will gradually establish industrial access thresholds and backward production capacity elimination mechanisms.

"The combination of these factors at home and abroad 'forced' tire product technology upgrades, as the domestic tire companies, accelerate the green tire R & D production capacity, and achieve product and technology advance layout, free from the national and market mandatory policy constraints, has become an industry consensus. Green Tires will become an inevitable trend for domestic companies," said Wang Yannan.

“In terms of policy promotion, it is expected that from 2015 to 2016: Class C1 tires will voluntarily provide tire fuel efficiency, tire wet grip and tire noise levels, and C2 and C3 tires will be partially voluntary and will be enforced in an orderly manner in 2017. All three types of tires implement labeling regulations," he added.


In March of this year, the China Rubber Industry Association has released the "Technical Code for Green Tires" to lay the foundation for the further introduction of the tire labeling method. In addition, the China Rubber Industry Association launched a project to promote fuel-efficient "green tires" development. The plan calls for 50% of Chinese tire manufacturers to produce green tires by 2015. Among them, no less than 50% of the production capacity is green tires, and the total production capacity is more than 25% for green tires. According to statistics, green tires can reduce rolling resistance by 20% to 30%, thereby reducing fuel consumption by 4% to 7%.
