Beibu Gulf coal imports are expected to continue to heat up

Economic Zone, as a typical raw material and market “two out of the” geographical structure of the industry, energy imports will continue to increase.
Yesterday, the reporter learned from relevant departments that with the further development of the Guangxi Beibu Gulf Economic Circle, the coal imports from the Beibu Gulf are expected to continue to heat up.
China is the world’s largest coal-producing country, and more than 70% of domestic energy is still dependent on coal. In recent years, although domestic coal production has increased by 70%, it still cannot meet the needs of domestic coal energy. At the same time, with the recent promotion of new technologies such as “coal oil production” and carbon dioxide capture and storage technologies, coal will once again become the protagonist of energy in the world.
Since November 1st last year, the state has imposed a 5% temporary export tax rate on coal and other energy products, and has accordingly eliminated export tax rebates for coal and other resource products. In the first quarter of this year, China became the first net importer of coal.
Economic development, energy first. Guangxi Beibu Gulf Economic Zone, as a typical raw material and market “two out of the” geographical structure of the industry, energy imports will continue to increase. Beibu Gulf imported coal sales network has now radiated the entire Pan-Beibu Gulf economic circle, involving thermal power, cement, sugar and papermaking industries, and initially formed a long-term dependence on imported coal in Beibu Gulf. At the same time, the Qinzhou coal-fired power plant and Fangcheng thermal power plant were completed and put into production, forming a coal market with an annual demand of 500 to 7 million tons, which will form a “regulator” for supply and demand in the Beibu Gulf coal market.
At present, Beibu Gulf Coastal ports have further improved the hard and soft environment for coal imports in order to increase coal import capacity. The import of coal from professional docks and imported coal from border trade will become the two major sources of Beibu Gulf coastal coal market.
