I recently had the chance to explore the Berwyn Fire Department, which is part of MABAS Division 11, thanks to some dedicated folks who put together this profile on the website. Special thanks go to Drew Gresik, Steve Redick, Hank Sajovic, and Larry Shapiro for providing photos that really bring the department to life. The Berwyn Fire Department is a professional outfit with 79 members, operating out of three stations that cover nearly four square miles. Their fleet includes a mix of vehicles—three from Seagrave, one from Pierce, and their latest addition, an engine from Crimson.
As I was browsing through the images, I came across some great shots of their stations. Berwyn’s Station 1, their southernmost station, is located at 6434 Windsor Avenue. Hank Sajovic snapped a fantastic photo of this facility, capturing its essence quite well. Then there’s Station 2, the northern station, found at 6615 16th Street. Larry Shapiro captured another excellent shot of this location, highlighting its unique features.
One of the standout pieces of equipment they have is their Berwyn Fire Department Engine 903, a 2009 Spartan Gladiator Crimson. It’s a real workhorse and looks incredibly sleek in the photos provided. There’s also another image showcasing Berwyn’s RE911 vehicle, which further emphasizes the department's modern fleet and commitment to efficiency.
