I recently came across some new updates on the Berwyn Fire Department, which is part of MABAS Division 11. It's pretty cool how this department got added to the site thanks to the hard work of a few dedicated individuals. They managed to gather photos from Drew Gresik, Steve Redick, Hank Sajovic, and Larry Shapiro to help showcase the stations and their vehicles. Berwyn is a professional fire department with around 79 personnel spread across three stations, covering nearly four square miles. Their fleet includes a mix of equipment—three trucks from Seagrave, an engine from Pierce, and their latest addition, a sleek engine from Crimson.
While I was browsing through the updates, I found some great images that really give you a feel for what the department looks like. For instance, Berwyn’s south station, Station 1, is located at 6434 Windsor Avenue. There’s a fantastic shot of it taken by Hank Sajovic that captures the essence of the place. Then there’s the north station, Station 2, which sits at 6615 16th Street. Larry Shapiro snapped a great image of this location as well, giving us a clear view of the setup over there.
One thing that caught my eye was their impressive fleet. Berwyn has some seriously modern vehicles. For example, they’ve got Engine 903, a 2009 Spartan Gladiator built by Crimson. It’s a beast of a machine, designed for efficiency and power. And then there’s RE911, another standout piece in their collection. These engines aren’t just functional—they’re works of art in their own right, showcasing the department’s commitment to staying ahead of the curve when it comes to firefighting technology.
