Shanghai Metrology Institute successfully developed a new stress ring calibration device

[China Instrument Network Instrument R&D] Recently, Shanghai Metrology and Measurement Technology Research Institute successfully developed a new stress ring calibration device that will enable high-precision, high-efficiency stress ring testing and improve laboratory calibration capabilities.

Stress ring is the load-retaining device in the stress corrosion cracking test. It has a wide range of applications in large-scale iron and steel enterprises. Its loading accuracy plays a decisive role in the calculation, analysis and monitoring of subsequent material life. With the gradual increase in test accuracy requirements and the increase in the number of inspections, the existing calibration methods cannot fully meet the needs of customers. The measurement team of the Institute of Mechatronics, Institute of Measurment and Testing Technology, Shanghai Municipality, in response to this problem, actively explored and developed new calibration devices and test methods to meet market demand.

The measurement team of the Force Research Laboratory actively visited and listened to the requirements of the major customer groups in Shanghai for the calibration of the stress ring, conducted a thorough investigation of the stress ring products in the existing market, and proposed to develop an automated high-precision calibration device instead. Existing test methods. Recently, the Force Value Research Office formally applied for the “Study of Stress-Ring Calibration Device Applied to Stress Corrosion Cracking Test” and was listed in the 2016 Bureau of Municipal Research. After the successful development of this project, it will achieve high-precision, high-efficiency stress ring test calibration, improve the laboratory's detection capabilities, and provide accurate and reliable calibration services for steel companies and research institutes in Shanghai and East China.
