At 3622 Chicago Avenue, a three-story building measuring 50 by 75 feet is involved in a fire. The first floor houses businesses, while the upper floors are residential. The incident was reported at 06:04 hours, with smoke visible from the scene. Fire Company 44 responded to the southwest corner hydrant and deployed a 2½-inch line to the rear of the structure. Truck 26 was assigned to Sector 2. A large pile of debris was found on the first floor at the back of the building.
Responding units included: 44, 95, 346, 336, 242, Rit, 345, 237, 552, and 271. Battalion 13 was occupied with a SWAT team warrant and could not respond immediately.
