Recently, China's independently developed "Multi-pole Electromagnetic Chuck Ultra-Precision Grinding Machine" has passed the technical evaluation organized by the China Mechanical Industry Federation. Experts noted that the application of this machine will fill a domestic gap, significantly enhancing the level of equipment manufacturing in the old industrial base of Northeast China. It is also expected to promote China's transformation from a major bearing producer to a leading one, and further contribute to the overall improvement of mechanical processing in the country.
It is reported that the current ultra-precision grinding technology for bearings in China is still immature. Many companies are still using outdated, homemade roller-based equipment or manual polishing methods. As a result, the surface roughness, waviness, and vibration of the ground raceways often fail to meet industry standards, leading to low yield rates, poor product accuracy, and weak competitiveness. Meanwhile, imported ultra-precision grinders from the U.S., Germany, and Japan, which still rely on roller or pressure-roll mechanisms, are not only expensive but also deliver unsatisfactory results. These machines often leave marks and scratches on the workpieces, causing many of them to remain unused despite being imported.
The Multi-pole Electromagnetic Chuck Ultra-Precision Grinding Machine, which has now passed the evaluation, was supported by the Ministry of Science and Technology's Torch Program and the National Development and Reform Commission's demonstration project. After several years of effort, it has completed prototype development and small-scale production. The machine has undergone performance testing and real-world production trials, with all technical specifications meeting design requirements. It effectively addresses the common issues of traditional pressure-roll and roller-based systems. It offers significant advantages in improving quality, reducing consumption, and increasing production efficiency. Moreover, its price is only one-tenth of imported models, making it a cost-effective and high-performance alternative.
