The accumulated industrial output value totaled 197.969 billion yuan, rising by 27.73%, while export delivery value reached 36.403 billion yuan, an impressive growth of 44.46%. Industrial added value stood at 54.491 billion yuan, increasing by 23.98%, and realized sales revenue reached 196.131 billion yuan, up by 27.7%. Total profits and taxes amounted to 35.701 billion yuan, reflecting a year-on-year growth of 23.96%.
The government’s focus on the localization of major equipment, along with a favorable market environment, has provided excellent development opportunities for general machinery manufacturers. These companies have made significant contributions to advancing the localization of key equipment in China.
One notable breakthrough was in the nuclear power plant valve sector. For years, critical valves for nuclear power plants had relied heavily on imports, which became a bottleneck for local production. In March 2006, the key valves developed by China Nuclear Sohu Technology Industrial Co., Ltd. and the Shanghai Nuclear Engineering Research & Design Institute successfully passed expert evaluation organized by the Science and Technology and International Cooperation Department of China National Nuclear Corporation. This marked a major step forward in domestic nuclear technology.
Wuxi Xixi Pump Manufacturing Co., Ltd. showcased its capabilities during the South-to-North Water Diversion Project. The company won bids for several pumping stations, including Baoying, Liushan, Jietai, Huai'an, and Yanjiaba. The West-East Gas Pipeline Project saw the introduction of the first domestically produced large-diameter all-welded forged steel pipe ball valves. These were manufactured by Zigong High-Pressure Valve Co., Ltd. and marked a breakthrough in reducing reliance on foreign suppliers.
Wuxi Compressor Co., Ltd. expanded its business by introducing the KR60 series of large reciprocating process compressors, marking its entry into the high-capacity compressor market.
Xiangdian Long Pump Co., Ltd. completed the shipment of 88LKXA-30.3 2x100MW special pumps for the fourth phase of the Huadian International Zouxian Power Plant.
